Cristina Amat is a contemporary Spanish artist born in Penedès, Barcelona. She currently resides in Sitges, an artists' village that nourishes her inspiration: the sea, its energy and the sunsets.

Her work revolves around the inner strength, beauty and truth that dwells in each person. Through colour, texture and gesture, Cristina explores the strength, sensitivity and vulnerability of human beings. Sensuality, courage, bravery and determination are intertwined in her figures. Each face, each gaze, each stroke is an invitation to connect with our own essence, with our own light and authenticity.

Her work is a journey inward, a space where human beings become inspiration, truth and transformation.

Today, Cristina continues to develop a pictorial language that fuses emotion, aesthetics and depth, creating portraits that elevate, remind and awaken the best within us.

Story

From a very young age, she painted nonstop, and her parents enrolled her in drawing classes where she learned the technique. Later, she studied design, and life took her down different paths. But it was after a serious personal crisis that she left everything behind to return to her roots: painting.

Since then, she hasn't stopped experimenting. She swapped brushes for palette knives and has focused her technique on thick layers of paint worked with various types of knives and vibrant colors, giving her work an almost sculptural quality.

An emerging and self-taught artist who moves forward relentlessly and acknowledges the importance of learning by doing and never stopping the experimentation, always following the path of her heart.
